Who do you think will prevail in the final event before the PGA Tour of Australasia takes a break? Will it be Pom who has come so close on two occasions already this year? Will Parry turn back the clock? Or will one of the young guns stand up and be counted.

Peter O’Malley
Once ridiculed for his inability to drop putts, this Aussie veteran has found his footing in 2011. He finished second in the Vic PGA after a shootout with James Nitties. A week later he headed the field after the three rounds of strokeplay at the Surf Coast Knockout only to be knocked out in the first round of matchplay. Pom’s last win was at the 2010 NSW Open but the boy from Bathurst is hungry and will finish high up this week.

Scott Laycock
The inaugural winner of the Surf Coast Knockout Scott Laycock has been very busy over the last few weeks. Spending time on the Victorian pro-am circuit Laycock won his last two events at Traralgon and Trafalgar and in the last week has shot a combined score of more than 30-under par. Looks like the Surf Coast Knockout has well and truly propelled Laycock into a purple patch.

Matthew Griffin
Determined to not be the perpetual bridesmaid Matt Griffin is still looking for his first win as a professional on the PGA Tour of Australasia. Matt finished second in both the 2010 WA PGA and the 2011 Vic Open and has put in a number of top performances in between. Destined to be a future Australian champion, will this be his week?

went out to city yesterday and couldnt believe i saw the one and only Brett Kimmorley shoot 71. On second glance it was actualy Matt Ballard

Slow start for Matthew Ballard. Great odds bout him this week but I think he will fire. He's been of the cakes of late. Also that Steve Jones I like. He plays a real smart game. Bunts his driver in play all day long. Good luck to all players.

Chris Renouf all the way, i saw him sink a 15ft putt the other day left handed! the kid has all the tricks up his sleeve!

Yeah that young Renouf lad has got alot of game with the ladies. Not bad a that golf game either. Definitely one to watch on tour this year.

I'm hearing good things out of the gold coast about young Chris Renouf, been striking the ball quite well and right on top of his putting.

Yeah I agree with Hoff and Shane, Renouf is one of the better up and coming Qlders. Not to mention he's a talk drink of water, check out those baby blues.

Word on the range is young Matt Ballard is in good nick. His swings improved since he has lost a few kilos. Such strong legs on him.

Scott Laycock has been carding some very nice scores lately and is a winner!! Euan Walters as a roughie!!

Chris Renouf is your man for the Qld PGA, he's a great ball striker and really handsome.

I think Craig hancock he is a great player one of the best ball strikers just needs to hole a few more putts and he could take it home

Inside mail that Anthony Still is making a comback after taking a long break. He'll be fresh, sharp and armed with great posture and bucket loads of shape. He'll be hard to beat!!!

leigh mackecnie is one of the most consistant players going around at the moment his play at the surf coast suggests to me that he is ready.

Its Pom's time for sure. Unlucky to be knocked out at the surf Coast but his game is still on track. Lets hope the putts go in the hole

I'd keep an eye out for Terry Pilkadaris, his form in the pro-am season in Victoria was pretty good, with two wins.
