Strong amateur line up for QLD PGA
Wednesday, 22 February 2012
2012 Golf Australia National Squad Member Cameron Smith is one of six talented amateurs competing in this week’s Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship field.
Smith, the 2011 Australian Stroke-Play and Australian Boys Champion, will play with Jin Jeong and Leigh Deagan in the first two rounds.
Having left the University of Georgia to focus on his career, Smith’s fellow National Squad Member Bryden Macpherson will also tee it up this week.
Macpherson is preparing for a big year ahead, already exempt into the field for this year's US Open and Masters.
Other amateurs in the field include Lorne Sampson, Brenton Pennells, Daniel Nisbet and Daniel McGraw.
Play will get underway at City Golf Club Toowoomba from 6.30am tomorrow, Thursday morning.
Live scoring for the Coca-Cola Queensland PGA Championship will be available at www.pga.org.au or download the PGA Tour of Australasia’s iphone app for scores at your fingertips.
